Faeries:

Tie a knot in the top of your wool roving for the faerie head, then prod in the loose fibres. make a length for wings, short piece for bodice, a thin length for the dress. Look at the photos for examples.
Spread out the fibres you are using for the ‘dress’ so it is very thin, like a spiders web, and gently felt the fibres into sides and back of faerie. Place the bodice piece - a thicker piece of wool - across horizontally and felt that around too. Take the roving you wish to use for wings, and pinch the middle, felting it in so it almost looks like a moustache!
You can then gently needlefelt the wings so they flatten out slightly. Turn your faerie over and felt the wings into the back, close to the ‘neck’. Choose your hair colour and felt it into top and sides of the face and back of head. You can then thread some cotton through top of head to hang up your faerie!
