S4C Commission for Lle Bach Mawr:

One of my most exciting projects was this commission from S4C, just as we were coming out of the first lockdown*.
They had found me on Instagram and asked me to create posable ‘dolls’ of the three presenters for the show, to be used in the credits!
I was very excited, and the first thing I did was to contact the presenters and ask what features or accessories did they want me to include as part of their creations; Carwyn asked for his trademark pencil behind his ear, Gwyn requested his favourite beanie and nose ring, and Amanda asked me to include her phone. As each little caricature was only 6 inches tall, these were very fiddly but lots of fun to include!
I made them around an armature so the animator could pose them for the stop motion film.
These dolls were so enjoyable to make, especially after a very quite time due the workshops being cancelled.
Following the design of these, I was delighted to be contacted by Carwyn’s wife, who commissioned me to make a new doll of her husband, but this time, holding his favourite mug, as he is rarely found without a cuppa!
